Success Stories

Coyote

Coyote was born June 2018 into a hoarding situation in the desert outside of Bakersfield, and fostered by Good Sense Dogs.   He proved to be a stable and outstanding pup and started out his puppyhood attending classes with our Ahead with Tails education program.  It was there he met his eventual owner who works as a therapist at Gerber Continuation High School.

Coyote now attends Gerber Continuation High School as a certified Therapy Dog assisting the same students he knew as a pup.

Lobo

Lobo came from horrific abuse.  He was saved and at a rescue facility when we found him and temperament tested him.  We were told he was as stable and happy as they come, but we were blown away when we met him.  We could not believe his nature considering the background he came from.

Lobo was paired with his boy, Seth, a high school student at Rocklin High.  Over months we worked with Lobo on the skills he would need to attend high school with Seth, and provide comfort and attention to Seth when he needs it.

Seth and Lobo bonded immediately and recently completed their senior year!

Ty

Ty was raised in our board and train “Started dog” program and is now happily living and working with his boy.  In addition to just being a great best friend, Ty offers deep tissue pressure as well as alerting.   He is great in public and travels everywhere his boy does.  Our board and train dogs are raised with trainers to learn the skills they will  need for their partners, but also to be well socialized and confident members of the family and members of their communities.

"We are blessed to have him. He is awesome!!"
